Accel and Google Back 5 AI Startups With Up to $2 Million Each in 2026 Atoms Cohort

Global venture capital firm Accel and Google’s AI Futures Fund have revealed the five startups selected for the 2026 Atoms AI Cohort. The program is designed to support early-stage artificial intelligence startups and help them grow from an early idea into companies that can scale globally.

The initiative brings together Accel’s experience in backing startups and Google’s powerful AI infrastructure to support founders building the next generation of AI-driven products.

The five selected startups were chosen from more than 4,000 applications, highlighting the intense competition and rising interest in artificial intelligence innovation across India and beyond.

Funding Support and AI Infrastructure

Each startup selected for the cohort will receive a co-investment of up to $2 million. The funding will be split equally between Accel and the Google AI Futures Fund.

In addition to funding, the startups will also receive up to $350,000 in compute credits. These credits can be used across Google’s AI ecosystem, including Google Cloud, Gemini, and Google DeepMind technologies.

This combination of capital and infrastructure support is meant to help founders experiment faster, build advanced AI models, and scale their products more efficiently.

Early-stage AI companies often require heavy computing resources to train and deploy models, so access to these tools can significantly accelerate development.

What the Atoms Program Is All About

Accel Atoms is an initiative launched to help early-stage founders build and grow their startups by providing capital, mentorship, and access to a strong network of investors and operators.

By partnering with Google’s AI Futures Fund, the program now combines venture funding with world-class AI infrastructure.

The goal is to help startups move quickly from the concept stage to building real products that can compete globally.

With artificial intelligence becoming one of the most transformative technologies today, programs like this aim to identify promising founders early and give them the resources needed to scale.

Five AI Startups Selected for the 2026 Cohort

The 2026 cohort includes five startups working across different sectors, showing how AI is reshaping multiple industries.

K-Dense: Accelerating Scientific Discovery

K-Dense is building what it calls an AI co-scientist designed to help researchers accelerate discoveries across fields such as life sciences, physics, and chemistry.

Scientific research often involves analysing massive amounts of data and running complex simulations. AI tools like the one K-Dense is developing could help scientists generate insights faster and potentially speed up breakthroughs in research.

Dodge.ai: Bringing AI Agents to Enterprise Systems

Dodge.ai focuses on modernizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems using autonomous AI agents.

ERP systems are used by companies to manage operations such as finance, supply chains, and human resources. However, many existing systems are complex and difficult to manage.

By introducing AI agents, Dodge.ai aims to automate workflows and improve how businesses interact with their internal software systems.

Persistence Labs: Transforming Call Centres With Voice AI

Persistence Labs is building voice AI technology aimed at transforming large-scale call centre operations.

Customer support centers often deal with high call volumes and repetitive queries. Voice AI can automate many interactions while maintaining natural conversations with customers.

If successful, solutions like these could improve efficiency for businesses while also reducing operational costs.

Zingroll: AI-Native Entertainment and Streaming

Zingroll is focused on building AI-native entertainment and streaming experiences for consumers.

The company aims to use artificial intelligence to personalize content, improve recommendations, and create interactive media experiences that go beyond traditional streaming platforms.

As entertainment platforms compete for user attention, AI-driven personalization could become a key differentiator.

LevelPlane: AI for Industrial Automation

LevelPlane is working on advanced industrial automation powered by AI.

The startup is developing technology that helps improve precision in manufacturing processes, particularly in the automotive sector.

Industrial automation powered by AI can help manufacturers increase efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize production workflows.

AI Innovation Is Expanding Across Industries

The diversity of the startups selected for the cohort reflects how artificial intelligence is spreading across different industries.

From scientific discovery and enterprise software to entertainment and manufacturing, AI is rapidly becoming a foundational technology for innovation.

Programs like the Atoms AI Cohort are designed to nurture early-stage ideas and help them develop into globally competitive solutions.

India, in particular, is becoming a major hub for AI innovation, with a growing number of founders building products aimed at global markets.

Why Big Tech and Venture Capital Are Investing in AI

Artificial intelligence has become one of the most heavily funded sectors in the technology industry.

Venture capital firms are actively looking for startups building AI-driven products, while large technology companies are investing in infrastructure and platforms to support AI development.

By partnering together, investors and technology providers can create ecosystems that help startups grow faster.

The collaboration between Accel and Google’s AI Futures Fund reflects this broader trend, where funding, infrastructure, and mentorship are combined to accelerate innovation.

What This Means for the Future of AI Startups

For the five selected startups, joining the 2026 Atoms AI Cohort could provide a major boost at an early stage.

Access to funding, computing resources, and mentorship from experienced investors and engineers can significantly increase their chances of success.

More importantly, the program highlights how early-stage AI innovation is gaining momentum in India.

As AI continues to transform industries around the world, startups emerging from such programs could play a key role in shaping the future of technology.
