Chennai Deeptech Startup Reneonix Raises Rs 1.7 Crore to Reinvent Glass Recycling

India generates millions of tonnes of packaging waste every year. A large part of it ends up in landfills or informal recycling systems that struggle to meet industrial standards.

Chennai-based deeptech startup Reneonix wants to change that — starting with glass.

The company has raised Rs 1.7 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures. The round also saw participation from leading institutions and grant bodies, including the Department of Science and Technology, NSRCEL, SustainTN, and ITEL Foundation.

With this fresh capital, Reneonix plans to double down on research and development, focusing heavily on hardware innovation and material science to move its commercial prototypes closer to scale.


The Big Problem: Packaging Waste and Broken Recycling Loops

Packaging is essential to modern supply chains, but it comes at an environmental cost. While materials like glass are technically recyclable, the real-world system often falls short.
