This Bengaluru Startup Just Raised $1.6M to Bring Global Fashion Brands to India

India’s fashion industry is growing fast, and global brands are increasingly eyeing the country as their next big market. However, entering and expanding in India is often complicated, expensive, and time-consuming for international fashion labels.

A Bengaluru-based startup called Confluxe wants to solve that problem.

The company has raised $1.6 million (about Rs 13.3 crore) in a pre-seed funding round led by Wavemaker Partners, with additional participation from Kriscore Capital.

Confluxe is building a technology-enabled platform that helps global fashion and lifestyle brands enter the Indian market and scale their operations efficiently. The startup plans to use the funding to strengthen its technology, expand partnerships with brands, and build infrastructure that simplifies the market-entry process.

The Founders Behind Confluxe

Confluxe was founded by Rajesh Narkar and Louis Coucke, two professionals with deep experience in the fashion and retail industry.

Rajesh Narkar previously worked with major Indian e-commerce fashion platforms such as Myntra and AJIO. During his time there, he gained firsthand experience in how fashion brands grow within the Indian market.

Louis Coucke, the co-founder, previously worked with H&M India, where he was closely involved in operations and brand expansion.

Together, the founders noticed a recurring challenge faced by global brands trying to enter India. Many brands were interested in the market but struggled to navigate the complex ecosystem of logistics, regulations, distribution channels, and consumer behavior.

Confluxe was created to bridge that gap.

The Big Opportunity in India’s Fashion Market

India’s fashion market is estimated to be worth around $130 billion, making it one of the fastest-growing consumer markets in the world.

Several factors are driving this growth:

  • Rising disposable incomes
  • Increasing urbanization
  • Growing influence of global fashion trends
  • Expansion of e-commerce platforms

Indian consumers are becoming more fashion-conscious and are increasingly interested in international brands. Younger shoppers, especially in urban areas, actively follow global fashion trends and seek out international labels.

Despite this demand, many global brands still struggle to establish a strong presence in the country.

The reason is simple: entering the Indian market is far from straightforward.

Why Global Brands Struggle to Enter India

While India offers huge potential, the process of launching a fashion brand in the country often involves several challenges.

First, the ecosystem is highly fragmented. Brands must work with multiple partners for logistics, warehousing, distribution, retail operations, and marketing.

Second, regulatory requirements can be complicated for international companies unfamiliar with the local market.

Third, scaling operations requires significant investment in infrastructure, supply chains, and retail partnerships.

These barriers often discourage global brands from entering the market or slow down their expansion.

This is where Confluxe comes in.

What Confluxe Actually Does

Confluxe acts as a technology-driven operating platform that simplifies the process of entering and scaling in India.

Instead of brands having to build everything from scratch, Confluxe provides an integrated solution that covers multiple aspects of the expansion process.

Through its platform, international fashion and lifestyle brands can manage:

  • Market entry strategy
  • Distribution and logistics
  • Retail operations
  • E-commerce partnerships
  • Brand growth and scaling

By combining these services in one platform, Confluxe reduces both the complexity and cost of expanding into India.

In simple terms, the startup acts as a local operating partner powered by technology.

A Tech-Driven Approach to Brand Expansion

Unlike traditional consulting or distribution firms, Confluxe is building a technology-enabled platform designed specifically for brand expansion.

The platform uses data and digital tools to help brands understand the Indian market better.

For example, brands can gain insights into:

  • Consumer preferences
  • Regional fashion trends
  • Pricing strategies
  • Demand patterns across cities

These insights help brands make smarter decisions when launching products or planning their expansion.

Instead of relying on guesswork, international labels can use data-backed strategies to grow in the market.

Why Investors Are Betting on Confluxe

The growing interest from investors reflects the massive opportunity in helping global brands enter India.

As consumer demand increases, more international brands are expected to explore the Indian market. However, the challenges of navigating the local ecosystem will remain.

Platforms like Confluxe can play an important role by acting as an enabling infrastructure layer.

Wavemaker Partners, which led the funding round, is known for investing in early-stage startups that solve structural problems in large markets. By backing Confluxe, the firm is betting that the company can become a key platform for global brands entering India.

Kriscore Capital also joined the round, signaling confidence in the startup’s vision and the founders’ experience.

How the New Funding Will Be Used

The fresh capital will help Confluxe strengthen its platform and accelerate growth.

Some of the key focus areas include:

Technology Development

The company plans to invest in improving its platform to support more brands and provide deeper market insights.

Brand Partnerships

Confluxe aims to onboard more international fashion and lifestyle brands that want to expand into India.

Operational Infrastructure

The startup will also build stronger partnerships in logistics, distribution, and retail operations to support brand scaling.

The Future of Global Fashion in India

India is quickly becoming one of the most attractive markets for global fashion brands.

With a young population, growing middle class, and increasing digital adoption, the demand for international labels is expected to keep rising.

However, success in the market requires local knowledge, strong operational support, and the ability to adapt to India’s unique consumer landscape.

Confluxe is positioning itself as the platform that makes this transition easier for global brands.

If the company succeeds in building a reliable operating infrastructure for brand expansion, it could play a major role in shaping how international fashion labels enter and grow in India.

For global brands looking at India as their next growth market, platforms like Confluxe may soon become an essential part of their strategy.
